The Quality Control Manager is responsible for leading the quality assurance operations within an automotive manufacturing environment. This role ensures that all products meet company standards and customer expectations for performance, reliability, and safety. The manager will develop and implement quality control processes, manage quality teams, and lead continuous improvement initiatives to reduce defects, improve productivity, and comply with industry standards such as IATF 16949 and ISO 9001.

Key Responsibilities:

· Oversee day-to-day quality control operations on the production floor.

· Ensure compliance with internal quality standards and external regulatory requirements (e.g., IATF 16949, ISO 9001).

· Lead root cause analysis and implement corrective/preventive actions (CAPA) for quality issues.

· Collaborate with engineering, production, and supply chain teams to address quality concerns.

· Monitor product quality through inspections, testing, audits, and statistical process control (SPC).

· Develop and maintain quality documentation, including control plans, PPAPs, FMEAs, and inspection records.

· Train and manage quality inspectors, technicians, and other QA staff.

· Interface with customers and suppliers on quality-related matters.

· Drive continuous improvement initiatives using Lean, Six Sigma, and other quality tools.

· Analyze data and prepare reports for management on key performance indicators (KPIs), trends, and improvement outcomes.

Working Conditions:

· Manufacturing floor and office environment.

· May require occasional travel to supplier or customer sites.

· Requires use of PPE and adherence to safety procedures.

· Full-time position with a typical work schedule of 8-hour days with flexibility to adjust as necessary based on production needs.

Requirements:

Qualifications:

· Bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering, Industrial Engineering, or 5-plus years related experience.

· 5+ years of quality control/assurance experience in automotive manufacturing.

· Proven leadership experience in a manufacturing environment.

· Strong knowledge of automotive quality standards (IATF 16949, ISO 9001, APQP, PPAP, etc.).

· Proficiency in quality tools such as 8D, FMEA, SPC, MSA, and root cause analysis techniques.

· Strong analytical, organizational, and communication skills.

· Proficient in Microsoft Office and quality management systems (QMS).


Preferred Qualifications:

· Certified Quality Engineer (CQE), Six Sigma Green/Black Belt, or similar certifications.

· Experience with OEM or Tier 1 automotive suppliers.

· Familiarity with manufacturing execution systems (MES).
