On behalf of our client, Colonial Machine Company, Decision Associates is seeking an experienced Quality Manager to lead our Quality Assurance and Quality Control functions. This is a key leadership role responsible for overseeing all aspects of product quality, compliance, and certification within our manufacturing operations. The Quality Manager will ensure adherence to stringent nuclear and industrial standards, drive continuous improvement initiatives, and lead a team dedicated to delivering the highest levels of quality and precision.

The ideal candidate will have a strong background in quality management, deep knowledge of nuclear-grade manufacturing standards, and proven leadership experience in guiding quality teams within a manufacturing environment.

Key Responsibilities

    • Lead, develop, and manage the quality team to ensure adherence to customer specifications, regulatory requirements, and industry standards.
    • Oversee quality assurance programs, audits, and inspections to maintain compliance with relevant certifications.
    • Establish, implement, and maintain quality management systems, policies, and procedures.
    • Direct inspections and testing of materials, components, and finished products to ensure compliance with engineering drawings and specifications.
    • Conduct root cause analysis of nonconformities, develop corrective actions, and implement preventative measures.
    • Collaborate with production, engineering, and operations teams to resolve quality concerns and improve processes.
    • Maintain and prepare quality documentation, certifications, and compliance records for nuclear-grade products.
    • Drive continuous improvement initiatives using lean, Six Sigma, or other methodologies to enhance product quality and operational efficiency.
    • Serve as the primary liaison during customer and regulatory audits.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Quality Management, or a related field.
  • Minimum 5–7 years of progressive experience in quality management within manufacturing, preferably in nuclear power, high-pressure piping, or specialty machining industries.
  • Strong knowledge of nuclear quality standards (e.g., ASME NQA-1) and industry-specific regulations.
  • Hands-on experience with inspection techniques, quality control processes, and compliance systems.
  • Familiarity with CNC machining and fabrication processes.
  • Proficiency with quality management software, ERP systems, and data analysis tools.
  • Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills with the ability to work effectively across departments.
  • Proven ability to manage audits, certifications, and compliance programs.
