Unimacts is on the search for a proactive and versatile Quality Manager to join our team in Las Vegas, Nevada. As part of our dynamic team, recognized as "industrial business athletes," the Quality Manager will play a pivotal role, demonstrating leadership and hands-on involvement in the growth and development of our U.S. plant and local supply chain.

In this role, the Quality Manager will be tasked with developing, implementing, maintaining, and evaluating the effectiveness of our quality system. This ensures that product development aligns with internal quality standards set by customers and/or relevant regulations.

Responsibilities:

  • Oversee compliance with Quality Objectives and effectiveness of corrective actions.
  • Coordinate adherence to inspection procedures, upholding quality requirements.
  • Administer quality systems and certifications, including process documentation and record-keeping.
  • Supervise Calibration System for measuring and test equipment, ensuring equipment maintenance and compliance with customer specifications.
  • Directly handle analyses of failures, nonconformities, and client inquiries.
  • Set, manage, and validate department objectives and budgets, authorizing procedures and operating standards.
  • Select, train, develop, and motivate staff, fostering a collaborative team environment.
  • Manage staff performance, promoting interdepartmental cohesion.
  • Lead the quality team including inspectors, technicians, and auditors.
  • Produce dimensional records from drawing specifications.
  • Conduct process audits to assure control.
  • Review and verify quality documentation for accuracy.
  • Uphold product quality and system compliance.
  • Record quality data, manage and maintain document control.
  • Collaborate with Maintenance/Production on continuous improvement activities using quality methodologies like SPC, Cpk’s, Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma, etc.
  • Ensure adherence to company policies, and ISO 9001 Unimacts integrated management system standards for Safety/Quality/Delivery/Cost.
  • Participate in safety meetings and training, adhering to all safety guidelines.
  • Engage in job training as organized by Management.
  • Introduce new systems and methods as required.

Requirements and Skills:

  • Proficiency in reading and interpreting drawings, specifications, standards, and customer requirements.
  • Skilled in documenting audit findings and quality check results.
  • Experience with ASTM standards is advantageous.
  • Effective communication of quality non-conformances across departments.
  • Capability to implement Non-destructive testing.
  • Proficient in GD&T interpretation and measurement.
  • Utilization of AQL controls.
  • Knowledge in SPC, Cpk’s, Six Sigma, Lean Manufacturing, SCAR, CAPA, and CAR methodologies.
  • Excellent organizational and time management skills, with a focus on multitasking and proactive action.
  • Self-driven with minimal supervision, urgency, attention to detail, and problem-solving skills.
  • Strong communication skills, bilingualism in English/Spanish is beneficial.
  • Adaptability in a fast-paced work environment.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Materials, or a technical field is desirable.
  • Preferably experienced in the Steel Industry.
  • Five to eight years’ experience in Quality Inspection/Management in manufacturing.
  • Knowledge of budgets and financial statements is essential.
  • Lean manufacturing and continuous improvement experience is preferred.
  • Six Sigma certification is a plus.
  • Experience with ERP systems and manufacturing software is favorable.
  • Experience with a quality control system, such as ISO9001, is preferred.
