Quality Manager Apply
Quality Manager – West Springfield, Town of, MA 01089, USA (On-site) Full-Time. Quality System Improvement: Improve the company’s Quality performance by transitioning from a reactive quality system relying on inspection to a proactive, integrated quality system that eliminates issues at the source. Key Responsibilities: Review the entire quality system and processes, making changes as necessary. Establish, maintain, and manage process improvement metrics to reduce customer escapes toward zero. Employ root‑cause analysis and corrective actions to eliminate quality issues. Collaborate with engineering and operations to embed quality focus into their processes. Review all program plans before production for quality compliance. Conduct and coordinate required product inspections, ensuring products meet customer quality standards. Reduce customer escapes, including decreasing specific incidents and defective products per total shipped. Ensure timely completion of root‑cause and corrective action analysis for any escapes. Oversee quality processes during production and establish quality metrics across the organization to reduce scrap, rework, and improve efficiency. Overseeing Quality Processes During Production. Quality Metrics Review the entire quality process and identify key metrics to improve overall quality. Measure metrics such as scrap, rework, first-pass yield, cost of quality, cost of poor quality, and escapes. Integrate the quality metrics into the company’s new ERP system, ensuring it provides necessary information. Implement metrics organization-wide, gaining managers’ buy‑in and training employees on measurement importance. Use metrics to identify improvement areas and make necessary changes. Organizational Development Manage and motivate the quality team: assess performance, create individual plans, and implement strategic replacements to ensure a high‑quality, capable team. Supervise personnel and operations with sound operating principles, ensuring training as needed. Maintenance of Certification Maintain NADCAP and all other relevant certification registrations with high system compliance. Sustain outside audits and recertification audits as required. Customer Interface Develop strong working relationships with quality leadership at customer companies. Resolve customer issues promptly and improve communication. Maintain a cost‑effective quality system that meets customer requirements.
