Quality Manager

Overview
The Quality & Continuous Improvement Manager leads all quality assurance, quality control, and continuous improvement initiatives across multiple manufacturing locations. This role oversees the organization's Quality Management System (QMS), ensures compliance with industry standards and regulatory requirements, and drives cross-functional improvement efforts that enhance product quality, operational efficiency, and customer satisfaction.

Key Responsibilities

  • Oversee and maintain the Quality Management System (QMS), including ISO 9001 and AS9100 standards.
  • Ensure compliance with ITAR, CUI handling requirements, and CMMC/NIST 800-171.
  • Conduct internal and external audits to verify adherence to quality and regulatory standards.
  • Use quality metrics to identify improvement opportunities and lead cross-functional continuous improvement projects.
  • Supervise inspection and testing processes to ensure product specifications are met.
  • Lead root cause analysis and corrective action activities.
  • Collaborate with production, engineering, procurement, and other teams to resolve quality issues.
  • Train and mentor staff on quality processes, procedures, and best practices.
  • Monitor and report on key quality performance indicators.
  • Maintain relevant quality and production certifications (ISO, AS, IPC, etc.).
  • Directly supervise quality engineering and inspection personnel and provide oversight to quality teams across multiple facilities.
  • Perform additional duties as needed.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Manufacturing, Quality Management, or related field.
  • Minimum 10 years of manufacturing/quality management experience, including leadership responsibility.
  • Strong understanding of ISO/AS standards, ITAR, and quality auditing practices.
  • Proficiency with statistical methods, quality metrics, and problem-solving methodologies.
  • Intermediate or higher proficiency with Microsoft Office and ability to learn ERP systems.
  • Strong communication skills, including the ability to write reports, procedures, and present to internal and external stakeholders.
  • Valid driver's license and ability to travel up to 30%.

Physical & Work Environment Requirements

  • Ability to sit frequently and occasionally stand, walk, and lift up to 25 lbs.
  • Regular use of hands, vision for close work, and color vision.
  • Occasional exposure to mechanical parts and electrical environments; moderate noise levels.
