Quality Special Projects Intern – Summer 2026 Description Department: Quality Location: Sycamore, IL Ideal candidate currently working toward a Bachelor’s degree in Biology, Chemistry, or related sciences, as a junior or senior in Fall 2026. Core Hours This 10-week, part-time internship runs from the week of June 1, 2026 to the week of August 3, 2026. Interns will work three days a week, 8 a.m.–5 p.m., for a maximum of 24 hours per week. Compensation Hourly paid position of $19/hour. Universal Duties and Responsibilities Support the Mission of the Company by identifying and accomplishing team and individual performance goals that directly support the company’s objectives. Treat all co‑workers, customers, and suppliers with respect and in accordance with the company’s Code of Ethics. Follow all company GMPs and SOPs. Essential Duties & Responsibilities Collaborate with the Quality Department to create and execute projects aligned with the company’s strategic vision. Analyze food safety behavior, identifying strengths and weaknesses. Improve the Environmental Monitoring Program by updating test sites, spreadsheets, and data analysis tools. Create training videos on food safety topics such as Good Manufacturing Practices and update existing presentations. Gather and analyze statistical data on non‑conformities for supplier issues. Mine data from critical quality pre‑requisite programs. Attend quality meetings as required and participate in departmental goal setting. Assist with other company special projects and work closely with the QA team and other internal teams. Perform other duties as assigned. Education and Work Experience Currently pursuing a Bachelor’s degree in Biology, Chemistry, or related science. Rising junior or senior in Fall 2026. Knowledge, Abilities, and Skills Self‑starter with excellent time management, multi‑tasking, and organizational skills. Strong work ethic, integrity, and ability to maintain confidentiality. PC proficient with MS Office (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint). Creative problem‑solving and strategic analysis. Capacity to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines in a fast‑paced environment. Attention to detail. Ability to handle frequent project shifts and interruptions. Reasoning skills to evaluate alternatives and choose optimal solutions. Mathematical proficiency with basic arithmetic, fractions, decimals, and percentages. Organizational skills to establish and maintain systems. Effective oral and written communication skills for reports and presentations. Technical skills in operating office equipment and maintaining documentation. Professional interaction with internal and external stakeholders. Physical requirements: sedentary work; occasional lifting up to 10 pounds. Vision: far, near, mid‑range vision, depth perception, color identification, field of vision. Activity: speaking, hearing, repetitive motions, finger dexterity, standing, walking, reaching.
