Job Summary The Quality Specialist supports the Manager of Quality in maintaining and improving the company’s Quality Management System (QMS). This role is primarily focused on SOP development and control, internal auditing, inspection documentation, ERP quality records, and audit readiness. The Quality Specialist works cross-functionally with Engineering, Operations, Purchasing, and Production to ensure quality requirements are clearly defined, documented, and followed. Benefits 401(k) Dental insurance Health insurance Paid time off Vision insurance Responsibilities The Quality Specialist’s responsibilities include, but are not limited to: Quality Systems & Documentation Create, revise, and maintain Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), work instructions, and quality-related documentation Manage document control activities, including revisions, approvals, and distribution Ensure controlled documents are current, accessible, and properly archived Internal Audits & Compliance Plan, conduct, and document internal quality audits Track audit findings, corrective actions, and follow-up activities Support external audits Inspection & Quality Records Support inspection documentation and verification activities Enter, review, and maintain quality records within the ERP system Assist with data review, reporting, and basic quality trend analysis Training & Continuous Improvement Support development and maintenance of training materials related to SOPs and quality processes Assist with training coordination and documentation Support continuous improvement initiatives and corrective/preventive actions Cross – Department Coordination Serve as a quality liaison between departments (Engineering, Operations, Purchasing, Production) Communicate quality requirements and documentation updates clearly and effectively Assist in resolving quality issues through collaboration and documentation support Non-Essential / Additional Responsibilities Participate in quality meetings and improvement initiatives Assist the Quality Manager with special projects as assigned Perform occasional floor inspections or verifications as needed Education and/or Experience Required High school diploma or equivalent 2+ years of experience in quality, documentation, or manufacturing support role Experience in creating or maintaining SOPs or controlled documents Experience with Microsoft Office Suite or related software Proficiency with ERP systems, Microsoft Office (Word, Excel) Required Skills & Capabilities Abstract reasoning Ability to make objective and resolute decisions Problem analysis and assessment Excellent verbal and written communication skills Excellent interpersonal skills Excellent organizational skills with emphasis and attention to detail Ability to work independently and handle multiple projects Physical Requirements Ability to walk production areas and perform visual inspections Ability to sit, stand, and use a computer for extended periods Capable of accessing all areas of the facility Must be able to access a variety of spaces and shelving units by stretching, squatting, and reaching.
