Job Summary The Technician, Quality III is responsible for product quality support, execution of continuous improvement projects, supplier quality development, and development of improved quality metrics. Responsibilities and Tasks Read and interpret blueprints, engineering specifications and third-party specifications to obtain product information such as specified material, surface finish, and dimensions. Perform testing and evaluation of material in production process, and test products for qualities such as dimensions and mechanical characteristics. Record test data, applying statistical quality control procedures when required. Contribute to failure analysis and root cause investigation as required. Evaluate data and write reports to validate or indicate deviations from existing standards. Prepare graphs or charts of data or enter data into computer for analysis. Assist in the development and implementation of standards and methods for inspection, testing, and evaluation. Apply proper metrology practices and gauge selection in the development of Quality Inspection Plans. All other duties as assigned. Education, Experience, Licenses and Certifications High School Diploma or GED Minimum of 3 years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience. Skills and Abilities US Citizenship is Required. Capable of using all hand-held measuring devices (calipers, micrometer, etc.). Ability to read and interpret blueprints, engineering specifications and product information. Proficiency with writing reports, and creating graphs and charts. Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite including Outlook, Excel, Word, PowerPoint and Teams. Fully versed with ANSI Y-14.5 Geometrical Dimensioning and Tolerancing. Capable of operating a CMM (FARO Arm). Good understanding of Quality Management Systems (AS-9100 preferred). Ability to communicate and/or present information to others. Travel and Physical Requirements 10% travel requirement. The physical demands described are representative of those that must be met to perform the essential functions of the job.
