Position Summary Reporting to the Quality & Food Safety Supervisor, the Quality Technician will contribute to the development and execution of all quality control and quality assurance activities to enable continuous improvement of the operations and customer relationships and will be part of the vision, mission, and goals of the processing operations in our retail operations. The position is responsible for operational quality assurance, quality control of products, ensuring food safety and quality across products and processes. In addition to the above, there will be specific projects which you may be assigned within product, process, or customer engagements. Position Responsibilities Lead and conduct internal, Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP), glass, and hard plastic audits for regulatory compliance. Assist in customer, regulatory and third-party certification audits. Complete investigations, corrective action, and root cause analysis reports for all the customer complaints. Conduct detailed analysis and track all vendor defects that occurred during production. Assist management in annual training of all employees for GMP, HACCP, Allergens, BRC, Food Security, and Food Defense practices. Use statistical tools to track complaints and other essential quality data for continuous improvement and quality trend analysis. Assist the Quality Manager to update and review Food Safety Plans per FSMA requirements. Assist in receiving/releasing ingredients and finished goods in ERP system as needed. Responsible for corrective action and preventive action reports for all findings from internal and external audits. Responsible for performing monthly environmental testing to ensure effective sanitation is being performed in the plant. Monitor the results of all analytical testing procedures, microbiological tests, and all temperature record sheets to ensure finished product quality. Communicate any out of specification conditions found in any products during testing and analysis to the appropriate management so they can effectively make changes in process management. Review all records of daily activities, worksheets, and monitoring forms to assure information is accurate and complete for positive release of the product. Observe and enforce all appropriate safety policies, GMP, and all other company policies procedures associated with all facets of work in the Lab, and surrounding plant areas. Understand and follow good food safety practices and principles. Assess operational posture of all lab equipment and help with troubleshooting when necessary. Assist other Technicians in conducting testing activities of product samples. Perform data entry activities of testing activities and monitor data for accuracy. Perform other duties as assigned. Position Requirements High School diploma or state‑issued equivalency certificate is required. Three (3) years of experience in Quality Assurance or Food safety is required. Experience with HACCP programs, and preventative controls. Basic knowledge of federal and state laws and regulations related to food production. Skilled in the use of MS office at a basic level. Strong analytical, organizational, and problem‑solving skills. Ability to work extended days and hours as needed. Strong ability to effectively communicate. Bilingual English/Spanish is highly preferred. Ability to lift 50 lbs. The pay for this role in the state of CA is $22.86 - $26.29/ hr and is based on the position responsibilities and geographic location. Actual pay within this range may be determined based on candidate’s experience, qualifications and/or other determining factors. Note: This job description is not intended to be all‑inclusive.
