JOB DESCRIPTION

Title: Quality Technician / Quality Associate

Location: Fairport, New York (100% Onsite) (W2 Contract)

Duration: 1 Year (with possibility of extension)

Work Schedule: Monday – Friday, 8:00 AM – 5:00 PM (40+ hours/week)

  • Support for production day shift as required
  • Occasional off-hour support (isolated instances)

Interview Process:

  • Round 1: Phone Screen
  • Round 2: Onsite Panel Interview


Position Overview

This role reports directly to the Quality Supervisor and focuses on quality disposition of Advanced Optics parts and materials. Responsibilities include product and material documentation review and release, as well as acting as a liaison between the plant and key stakeholders. The position collaborates closely with Engineering, Operations, and Procurement to support and improve customer experience.


Key Responsibilities

  • Ensure adequacy of product quality and compliance to requirements
  • Ensure accuracy and timeliness of quality data and system updates
  • Disposition and transact production events and inventory related to part and material non-conformances
  • Support containment and corrective action activities
  • Monitor metrics consistent with job responsibilities
  • Support plant safety programs to maintain a safe working environment
  • Achieve department requirements for safety, quality, and cost
  • Drive process control, process discipline, and continuous improvement


Education & Experience

  • Associate’s Degree + 2 years of experience in a technical role within a manufacturing/production environment

OR

  • High School Diploma/GED + 5 years of experience in a technical role within a manufacturing/production environment


Required Skills

  • Ability to multitask and prioritize work independently in a fast-paced manufacturing environment
  • Strong cross-functional communication skills
  • Ability to quickly learn new technology and processes
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office


Desired Skills

  • Previous Quality Control experience in manufacturing or technical environment
  • Knowledge of ISO 9001
  • Experience interpreting procedures and work instructions
  • Experience using ERP systems (e.g., SAP ERP)
