Position Summary: The Quality Tester is responsible for performing hands-on electrical testing, troubleshooting, and inspection of pole-mount distribution transformers to ensure all products meet Central Moloney’s quality and safety standards. This role requires a strong understanding of electrical principles, attention to detail, and a commitment to maintaining product reliability and compliance with industry specifications.

Requirements

Key Responsibilities

  • Perform hands-on electrical testing of pole-mount distribution transformers following established procedures and safety standards.
  • Troubleshoot and diagnose electrical issues or component failures using appropriate testing equipment and tools.
  • Document and record test data, results, and findings accurately and completely.
  • Provide guidance and recommendations for repair or corrective action upon product failure.
  • Work closely with Engineering, Production, and Quality teams to identify root causes and implement corrective measures.
  • Ensure compliance with internal quality standards, customer specifications, and applicable electrical testing regulations.
  • Maintain testing equipment in proper working condition and report calibration or maintenance needs.
  • Participate in continuous improvement activities to enhance testing processes, quality assurance procedures, and product performance.
  • Follow all safety protocols and environmental guidelines in the testing area.

Education and Qualifications

  • High School Diploma or GED required
  • Technical training or coursework in Electrical Technology, Industrial Maintenance, or a related field preferred
  • 1–3 years of experience in electrical testing, quality inspection, or transformer manufacturing environment preferred
  • Ability to read and interpret electrical schematics, test data, and product specifications
  • Proficiency with electrical test equipment (e.g., multimeters, hipot testers, resistance meters)
  • Strong problem-solving and analytical skills
  • Excellent communication and teamwork abilities
  • Commitment to safety and quality standards

Physical Demands:

  • Lifting: Able to lift 50 pounds unassisted.
  • Environment: Work in a facility with loud noise, extreme temperatures, and environmental stressors.
  • Physical Activities: Sit, stand, walk, bend, climb, crouch, reach, and grasp as needed.
  • PPE: Wear required PPE, including eye and hearing protection, gloves, and safety toe footwear.
  • Dexterity and Vision: Manual dexterity and specific vision abilities (close, distance, color, peripheral, depth perception, and focus adjustment).
  • Stamina: Stand for long shifts.
  • Skills: Effective communication, basic math skills, and teamwork.
  • Safety: Adhere to safety protocols and address hazards.
