Position : R&D Electronics Development Engineer

Location: Niskayuna, New York,

Job Description:

• 5+ years' experience in the development, programing, test, and commissioning of power converter controls electronics with a primary focus in controls applied to electric machines (range of 10kw to 2MW)
• BSEE or MSEE
• Experience in the development and/or test of software intensive control systems.
• Very strong knowledge and experience of real time control and implementation in C / C++
• Strong knowledge and experience with PLECs modeling and simulation
• Must be willing to work out of an office located in Niskayuna, NY.

Desired:

• In-depth knowledge of electrical machines including electromagnetic, thermal as well as mechanical technology aspects.
• Experience in Automotive Hybrid Electrical or Aerospace Systems.
• Technical creativity and business acumen
• Ability to work across all functions/levels as part of a global team.
• Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Determine electrical machine (generators, motors, power delivery, and accessories') requirements by studying system and customer requirements.
• Proven leadership, coaching and teamwork skills
