Rack Build Technician Apply
PurposeThe Rack Build Technician is responsible for the assembly, wiring, programming, and testing of A/V racks and related equipment. This role ensures all systems meet functional, technical, and quality standards before deployment. The Rack Build Technician also supports ongoing technical needs, including Tier II assistance for the Customer Service Specialist team, and maintains a high standard of organization and technical expertise.ResponsibilitiesRack Assembly and Wiring:Perform the complete build of A/V racks, ensuring systems are wired and programmed accurately.Follow technical specifications and organizational standards to meet project requirements.Programming and Setup:Load pre-programmed files into equipment.Develop configuration files and load.Set IP address schemes in equipment.Document all network settings, log in credentials and serial numbers of equipment for project.Testing and Quality Assurance:Set up completed racks in the test area to conduct full functionality testing and system staging.Test and configure additional video equipment, such as video walls, media players, and other innovative products.Support and Collaboration:Act as Tier II level technical support for the Customer Service Specialist team, troubleshooting and resolving escalated issues.Collaborate with internal teams to ensure systems meet client and organizational expectations.Organization and Compliance:Maintain organization and cleanliness in the rack build and test areas.Adhere to deadlines, requirements, shipping schedules, and build expectations.Training and Development:Maintain up-to-date technical training and certifications on systems and products used by the organization.Stay informed on emerging technologies and industry trends.QualificationsExperience in building and wiring A/V racks and systems.Proficiency in wiring, programming, and configuring A/V racks and related equipment.Strong understanding of IP address schemes, networking basics, and system integration.Experience with loading pre-programmed files and creating configuration files for A/V equipment.Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality.Ability to manage deadlines and work in a fast-paced environment. Strong organizational and problem-solving skills.Willingness to pursue ongoing technical training and certifications.
