The Strategic and Global Awareness Directorate (Project West Wing) provides technical intelligence analysis and research for a broad range of national security space and intelligence community customers. The Enterprise Threats (ET) team works to provide unique, timely and independent assessments and counsel pertaining to current and future threats to the use of space as well as the effectiveness of strategic deterrents.

Join us and actively contribute to a high-performing team bringing to bear technical skills to characterize the fast-evolving field of space threats and its implications to U.S. national security space. Participate in a wide range of technical activities, work with technical intelligence, analyze threats to space programs, and influence customer decisions on important national security space topics.

In support of these responsibilities, experience in radar and electronic warfare analysis are of particular interest.
Work Model
This position is 100% onsite at the Los Angeles Air Force Base.

What Youll Be Doing
  • Develop and maintain a comprehensive awareness and understanding of current and developing threats to current and future U.S. national security space and nuclear deterrence systems, architectures, and missions. This position will emphasize the radar and electronic warfare domains; however, other global threats of interest include, but are not limited to, orbital and ground-based kinetic energy, directed energy, and electronic warfare systems; navigation warfare; supply chain attacks; sabotage; signals intercept; nuclear; cyber; conventional; and non-conventional threats.
  • Perform detailed analyses on phased array, bistatic, and other radar signals, tracking and imaging systems, and terrestrial and space domain awareness systems and capabilities.
  • Form teams with other Project West Wing colleagues and engineering group staff to perform accurate in-depth research, detailed modeling, or other multi-disciplinary engineering analysis required to complete tasks.
  • Proactively identify, articulate, and understand the possible impact of key threat issues to Space Systems Command, the Air Force Nuclear Weapon Center, and other government customers; advocate for research tasks to address key national security counterspace and nuclear deterrence issues at both the strategic and tactical levels.
  • Build and maintain relationships with other Aerospace colleagues and intelligence community and national security space organizations to facilitate the exchange of information and data, and maintain and enhance products and processes to ensure the relevance of the groups analyses.
  • Protect and maintain the organizations reputation for integrity and unbiased, independent, high-quality analysis.
  • Gather, assimilate, process, and analyze a wide variety of open source and other forms of data and information; apply intelligence analysis, scientific, and/or engineering methods to draw conclusions and extrapolate answers to both specific and general scientific and technical threat intelligence questions.
  • Prepare high quality technical reports and deliver briefings to audiences ranging from peers to high-level government decisionmakers.
  • Assist in identifying, acquiring/developing, and leveraging analytical tools and date capture techniques.
  • Travel as required to contractor locations, government facilities, and other Aerospace offices.
What You Need to Be Successful
Minimum Qualifications:
  • At least a bachelors degree in a relevant scientific, engineering or mathematics discipline is required.
  • Eight or more years of experience in relevant technical disciplines such as radar and electronic warfare is required.
  • Demonstrated intellectual curiosity and creative problem solving.
  • Strong demonstrated written and oral communication skills are required to collaborate with peers and customers and generate deliverable products.
  • Proven ability to establish and maintain effective interpersonal and working relationships with various levels of corporate staff, peers, management, program offices, customers, and contractors.
  • Demonstrated initiative and strong technical leadership skills, with proven ability to work with and build teams.
  • The ability to travel is required.
  • This position requires the ability to obtain and maintain a top secret security clearance and SCI access, which is issued by the U.S. Government. U.S. citizenship is required to obtain a security clearance.
  • Must have or be eligible for a Top Secret clearance and SCI access.

  • Significant exposure to threat and/or risk analysis and the intelligence, national security space, and strategic deterrence communities is desirable, as is experience in cognitive electronic warfare and radar systems, AI/ML, and modeling using either established tools or creating new physics-based capabilities.
  • A graduate-level degree in an appropriate STEM discipline.
  • Current TS/SCI is strongly preferred.
