Radiation Therapist Oncology Apply
Any traveler not currently in possession of an active State of HI license must apply upon acceptance of offer. Candidate must have Hawaii License by start of assignment.This position is located in the East Hawaii Heath Cancer Center of Hilo Medical Center. The function of this organizational segment is to provide oncology services for the island of Hawaii. JOB DESCRIPTION:The Radiation Therapist is responsible for independently performing a variety of radiation therapy treatments, simulations, treatment planning and fabrication of specialized treatment aide in accordance with the prescription and instructions of the physician.The individual must demonstrate knowledge of the principles of growth and development over the life span and possess the ability to assess data reflective of the patient s status and interpret the appropriate information needed to identify each patient s requirements relative to his or her age specific needs and to provide the care needed by the patient groups. Must be proficient on a Varian TrueBeam linear accelerator, and ARIA EMR. Must be able to treat 25-30 patients/day. Treatment modalities: 3D, IMRT, SBRT, electrons. Set-ups include all treatment sites as this is a comprehensive cancer center. EXPERIENCE AND LICENSURE:2 years of progressively responsible imaging technologist/specialist experience which demonstrated a thorough knowledge of imaging procedures and/or techniques.A current American Registry of Radiologic Technologist (ARRT) in Radiation Therapy (T), BLS and a current State of Hawaii Radiologic Technologist license as a Radiation Therapist.SHIFT:This position may work on rotating shifts, with work on weekends and holidays.
