Radio Frequency System Engineer Apply
Architect the GHz-Bridge to the Quantum Future | Senior RF System Specialist (Delft)The ChallengeIn the race to build the world’s first large-scale quantum computers, the biggest bottleneck isn't just the qubits—it’s how we test them. We are a Delft-based Deep Tech scale-up moving quantum chip characterization from "fragile lab setups" to "industrial-grade manufacturing."To do this, we need to master the signal path from DC to 8 GHz in some of the most extreme environments on Earth (and below it).The RoleWe are looking for a Senior RF System Specialist to take full ownership of our microwave hygiene and cryogenic signal integrity. You won't just be designing circuits; you will be defining the "grounding philosophy" and RF architecture that allows quantum processors to breathe. You will act as the technical backbone of our engineering team—bridging the gap between theoretical RF behavior and real-world system performance. What you will own:System-Level RF Architecture: Shaping signal paths from AWG to QPU, ensuring phase coherence and minimal noise across the full cryo-I/O chain.Electromagnetic Mastery: Leading EM design efforts (FEM/FIT) for sample holders and shielding to eliminate unintended coupling.Technical Authority: Acting as the primary technical interface for global suppliers, ensuring their hardware meets our QPU-level requirements, not just their own datasheets.Mentorship: Raising the bar for RF discipline and coaching a high-growth team of engineers.Who you are:A seasoned RF Engineer (GHz domain) with a broad, all-round toolkit.Experienced in up-conversion schemes (DDS, Superheterodyne, IQ mixing) and high-end lab instrumentation (VNA, Spectrum Analyzers).A "System Thinker" who enjoys the pragmatism of a startup but demands the precision of a semiconductor fab.Familiar with EM simulation (HFSS/CST) and comfortable using Python to automate signal verification. Why Delft?Join an ecosystem at the forefront of the next computing revolution. Based at the heart of the Netherlands' "Quantum Delta," you will work in an environment where your expertise in microwave engineering directly dictates the reliability of future quantum hardware.Interested in moving from the lab to the industry standard? For more information and reactions/applications please contact Mr. Anton van Rossum, Recruitment Consultant, tel. +31 6 53 306 309, e-mail: anton.van.rossum@ir-search.nl.#QuantumComputing #RFEngineering #DeepTech #DelftHighTech #MicrowaveEngineering #SignalIntegrity #Semiconductor
