Registered Radiologic TechnologistThe Registered Radiologic Technologist is responsible for the administration of ionizing radiation to patients for diagnostic purposes and fulfilling the goals and objectives of Advanced Pain Care.Graduate of an accredited School of Radiologic TechnologyCurrent registration with ARRT and successful completion of Basic Life SupportThree to five years of radiologic technologist experience preferredPerforms diagnostic procedures on patients to meet the established practice parameters and standards of careUtilizes proper positioning of patients, proper image identification, professional patient care and assessment and maintains proper documentationPrepares patients for exams by communicating the need to remove garments or jewelry that may interfere with procedure, and explaining how the process worksAdheres to medical and standard precautions as required per procedurePerforms clerical duties, transports patients as required and processes imagesAdministers contrast media and other medications as directedAssists with quality control/performance improvement, including maintaining radiographic equipmentClosely follows provider instructions and apply knowledge of anatomy and physiology to the process in order to help provider diagnose problemsUse radiation safety measures and protection devices to comply with government regulations and ensure safety of patients and staff membersMonitor video display of area being scanned and monitor patients' conditions and reactions to procedures, reporting abnormal signs to physicianAdheres to all Advanced Pain Care policies and proceduresHas regular and predictable attendancePerforms other duties as assignedKnowledge of X-ray equipmentExcellent organizational and interpersonal skillsExcellent oral and written communication skillsAbility to work with complex computers and machineryAbility to work independentlyAbility to exercise judgment and make decisions under pressureAbility to manage time wellAbility to handle confidential patient informationAbility to document accurately and preciselyAbility to produce high quality images consistentlyMedical office environmentGood visual acuity, accurate color vision.
