Job Summary (List Format):
- Perform Interventional Radiology (IR) procedures of diagnostic quality for patients of all ages according to established protocols.
- Obtain clinical history and data for correlation with IR procedures.
- Implement and adhere to screening and safety measures per IR policies and procedures.
- Prepare and administer contrast media to patients in accordance with policy.
- Practice and maintain sterile techniques during all procedures.
- Assist radiologists in IR procedures and provide support during emergency medical situations.
- Coordinate patient care with other departments to optimize workflow and patient satisfaction.
- Assess patient and family learning needs; provide thorough education regarding procedures.
- Ensure accurate and complete documentation, records, files, and reports; perform clerical duties as needed.
- Verify presence of signed physician orders and ensure they match billed procedures.
- Maintain knowledge of emergency equipment locations and operation within the unit.
- Follow all radiation safety policies and procedures.
- Serve a diverse patient population including pediatric, adolescent, adult, and geriatric patients.
- Provide care for inpatients, outpatients, emergency/trauma patients, and those requiring portable/surgical procedures.
- Work collaboratively with a multidisciplinary team including nurses and other medical staff.
- Maintain required certifications (BLS required, ACLS preferred, ARRT/ODH license, Epic experience).
- Participate in call coverage as required (to be discussed during interview).
- Perform quality control (QC) checks as required (daily and weekly).
