Radiology Technologist

Compensation: $31 to $42 depending on years of experience



Position Overview

The Radiology Technologist performs routine and specialized radiographic procedures to support the diagnosis and treatment of patients. This role involves operating radiology and auxiliary imaging equipment, preparing and positioning patients, and ensuring safe administration of contrast materials. The technologist collaborates with providers and the care team to deliver accurate images in a variety of settings, including fluoroscopy, surgery, emergency, inpatient, and outpatient care.


Responsibilities

  • Perform routine and minor special radiographic procedures according to protocols and policies
  • Position and prepare patients for imaging, ensuring safety and comfort
  • Operate radiology equipment and auxiliary imaging systems effectively and safely
  • Administer contrast materials when required by protocol
  • Support imaging services across multiple departments, including OR, ED, portable x-ray, and outpatient settings
  • Monitor equipment performance and follow departmental reporting procedures for malfunctions
  • Accurately label, document, and maintain imaging records
  • Communicate clearly and compassionately with patients, staff, and providers
  • Administer medications as appropriate and per policy
  • Provide technical coverage for imaging services on a 24/7 rotation as needed


Requirements

  • Associate degree in Radiologic Technology, or graduate of an accredited radiologic technology program
  • ARRT certification in Radiography (required)
  • Wisconsin Radiographer license (required)
  • Current BLS/CPR certification (or ability to obtain within 90 days of hire)
  • Experience preferred, but new graduates welcome to apply
  • Strong organizational, technical, and communication skills
  • Physical ability to meet job demands, including standing, bending, lifting, and moving patients
