Background & Purpose of the Job:

Founded in Boston in 2009, Yasso is a pioneer in convenient frozen snacks, offering a high quality range of low-calorie yet indulgent products.
Yasso will join the other premium brands in our North America portfolio including Ben & Jerry’s, Magnum and Talenti.
Yasso’s products respond to the growing demand in North America for on-the-go, healthier and indulgent frozen snacks.


This is a new role to join the Ice Cream R&D team! Reporting into the R&D Manager – Yasso, this person will be tasked with supporting the R&D tasks related to the Yasso program.
This includes supporting the integration of recipes and processes into our systems, compliance and regulatory checks, claims assessments, fuel for growth and innovation support.

Who You Are & What You’ll Do:

  • Support the ingredient and recipe integration workstream for Yasso ingredients into UL systems (PLM)

  • Support regulatory and compliance assessments along with claim substantiation for all Yasso products and ingredients

  • Support 2025+ innovation funnel development

  • Support the delivery of ingredient harmonization and fuel for growth opportunities

  • Support product insourcing workstream

  • Work as a member of cross functional project team to deliver projects OTIF

What You’ll Need to Succeed :

  • A deep passion for product design and creative product development

  • Bachelor of Science Degree in Food Science or equivalent degree.

  • 2-5 years of experience in the food industry, preferably in product development

  • Ability to independently execute tasks and projects with low-moderate complexity

  • Ability to develop, plan, conduct, and coordinate prototype development initiatives across multiple projects/tasks.

  • Working knowledge in use of ingredients, formulation, process, and product design principles.

  • Working knowledge in specification creation and approval and costing.

  • Strong verbal and written communication skills

  • Ability to present information to both technical and non-technical audiences

  • 5% travel required

Pay: The pay range for this position is $68,000 to $102,000.
Unilever takes into consideration a wide range of factors that are utilized in making compensation decisions including, but not limited to, skill sets, experience and training, licensure and certifications, qualifications and education, and other business and organizational needs.

Bonus: This position is bonus eligible.

Long-Term Incentive (LTI): This position is LTI eligible.
