Boston Speech is currently seeking a qualified and experienced Reading Specialist to join our team. As a Reading Specialist, you will play a vital role in supporting students' reading and literacy skills. You will work with students on an individual or small group basis, providing targeted instruction and interventions to improve reading fluency, comprehension, and phonics skills.

This position requires working 15 hours a week, and the rate is $70-$80 per hour at a school in Revere.

Responsibilities:

  • Conduct assessments to evaluate students' reading abilities and identify areas of need
  • Develop and implement individualized reading plans and interventions
  • Provide direct instruction and support to students to foster reading fluency and comprehension
  • Utilize evidence-based reading strategies and materials to enhance students' literacy skills
  • Collaborate with teachers, parents, and other professionals to monitor students' progress and make appropriate adjustments to instruction
  • Maintain accurate and organized documentation of student progress and interventions

Requirements

  • Valid certification as a Reading Specialist
  • Experience with OG or Wilson reading program is a plus!
  • Prior experience working as a Reading Specialist or in a similar role
  • Knowledge of evidence-based reading instruction and intervention strategies
  • Ability to assess students' reading abilities and develop individualized plans
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work effectively with students, parents, and a multidisciplinary team
  • Attention to detail and strong organizational skills
