Ensures he/she is using his/her time efficiently and effectively. Ensures he/she is using his/her supervisor’s, dispatch, and management’s time appropriately. Ensures he/she is using his/her peers’ time appropriately. Ensures assigned equipment meets company efficiency, safety, and excellence standards. Ensures proper servicing and maintenance for assigned equipment, using pre and post trip inspections, through coordination with management, shop maintenance personnel, and Operations to uphold Manatt’s standards. Ensures ready mix truck is in compliance with state and federal regulations, including maintenance of pre and post trip inspection reports, drum certification, and current registration and insurance card, and performs preventative maintenance service and minor repairs on truck. Positions truck to receive materials that may include course and fine aggregates, cement, chemical admixtures, and water. Understands proper ticket information such as: mix product, load size, targeted slump, and route/jobsite directions. Visually inspects every load to ensure the quality adheres to Manatt’s standard of excellence and maintains accountability for desired characteristics of hydraulic concrete until delivery completed. Assembles and disassembles chutes. Safely positions chutes and controls the discharge process into various concrete placement units such as: wheelbarrow, conveyer, pump, or direct pour into designated form. Ensures that all documentation has been properly noted, including on a tablet or such other program as necessary, such as water adjustments, test results, customer signature, and any procedures used that could jeopardize the quality of Manatt’s product. Safely cleans mixer drum, hopper, and chutes, including post‑delivery, by using handheld scraper, onboard water, and water hose to ensure the truck always represents a high standard of excellence. Cleans inside of mixer drum as needed to prevent excessive build‑up of hardened concrete. Operates in a safe manner and abides with traffic laws, rules, and regulations of State and Federal Departments of Transportation, laws governing hazardous materials and placards, Occupational Safety and Health Administration rules and regulations and company rules/safety directives. Operates loader and other ready‑mix equipment, as needed. HUMAN POTENTIAL Commits to continuous personal improvements on the path towards being best self. Qualifications Education and Experience High school diploma or general education degree (GED); or one to three years customer service‑related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience. Knowledge, Skills and Ability Mechanical inclined to learn functions of ready‑mix truck components including electrical, pneumatics, compressed air, water systems, and computerized mixer controls. Language Skills Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, batching and dispatching programs, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence. Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or team members. Mathematical Skills Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percentages to develop and interpret bar graphs. Reasoning Ability Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form. Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations. Certificates, Licenses, Registrations Valid Class A or B CDL with airbrakes endorsement. Current IDOT Physical required. Other Qualifications Ability to work seasonally. Typically April – November but could be called in during the winter for work as weather allows.
