Real Estate Paralegal
Ridgeland, MS | In-Office
Compensation: $65k-$85k + Benefits
About the Opportunity
A well-established, highly respected law firm is seeking a Real Estate Paralegal to support its Transactions practice group. This role plays a critical part in managing commercial real estate deals from initial intake through closing and post-closing, working closely with attorneys and clients throughout the entire transaction lifecycle.
What You’ll Do
- Support attorneys in handling commercial real estate transactions from start to finish
- Review and analyze:
- Title commitments and title reports
- Surveys and legal descriptions
- Draft and prepare:
- Title objections and commitments
- Closing documents (deeds, affidavits, closing statements, financing documents, etc.)
- Coordinate and manage real estate closings, including:
- Scheduling and logistics
- Reviewing lender closing packages
- Preparing closing binders
- Handle funding and disbursements, including trust account coordination
- File and record legal documents (deeds, UCCs, mortgages, etc.)
- Communicate with clients, lenders, brokers, title companies, and other stakeholders
- Track transactions for 1099 reporting
- Assist with post-closing matters, title updates, and policy issuance
What We’re Looking For
- Experience supporting real estate transactions in a legal, title, or lending environment
- Strong attention to detail and ability to manage multiple deals at once
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Highly organized with the ability to meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office
Preferred Qualifications
- 5+ years of real estate experience in a law firm, title company, or lender
- Experience with title/settlement software (SoftPro preferred)
- Familiarity with e-recording platforms and UCC filings
- Paralegal certificate, college degree, or notary designation a plus
