Receptionist/Legal Assistant

Meridian Law, PLLC (www.meridian.law) is seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented candidate for a Receptionist/Legal Assistant. This is a full-time, in-office position. The ideal candidate should have a strong work ethic, excellent attention to detail, strong written and verbal communication skills, and be willing to go above and beyond to provide excellent customer service to our clients and potential clients. Details of the responsibilities for this position are included below:

Receptionist

Will handle front office duties and handle incoming calls and client/potential client communications and provide other clerical support to a team of attorneys, paralegals, and administrators.

Responsibilities include:

  • Handle office opening and closing duties;
  • Triage potential client calls and enter detailed contact and case information into our client resource management (CRM) software;
  • Set up and close matters in the firms practice management software and cloud storage;
  • Maintain communication with clients, opposing counsel, and court clerks;
  • Manage attorney calendars;
  • Occasionally order lunch for firm training sessions and lunch-and-learns;
  • Keep office organized and supplies ordered;
  • Maintain physical file management and organize case binders;
  • Transcribe dictation using transcription software;
  • Serve and file correspondence and legal documents;
  • Prepare and proofread legal documents;
  • Handle, scan, and file all incoming and outgoing mail;
  • Assist with various clerical tasks for firm personnel; and
  • Generally do whatever is necessary to serve the firms clients efficiently and expediently.

Legal Assistant

Will provide legal and non-legal administrative support to Estate Planning/Probate attorney and his clients. Working knowledge of Spanish is a plus.

Responsibilities include:

  • Setting Hearings and Prepping Notices of Hearing;
  • Handle Calendaring and Calls;
  • Handle Intake, Potential Client Triage & Disengagements;
  • Handle Representation Letter & Invoice Sends;
  • Handle Filing Court Documents;
  • Handle Recording Deeds;
  • Handle Communications with Court Clerks and Retrieving Court Documents or

Information;

  • Binding Estate Planning Binders post execution;
  • Handle Legal Access Plans & Legal Plan Billing;
  • Handle/Filing Incoming Mail; and
  • Handle Outgoing Mail & FedEx Documents

Some travel (to courts and post office) is required. Candidates should have a reliable mode of transportation.

Generally, applicants should have an entrepreneurial spirit, great attitude, and a willingness to learn. Preference will be given to applicants who have conversational Spanish-speaking ability or training.
