About the Role:

As a Class A CDL Driver Recruiter within the Transportation and Warehousing industry, you will play a pivotal role in identifying, attracting, and securing top talent to meet the organization's staffing needs. Your efforts will directly impact the company's operational efficiency and growth by ensuring that critical roles are filled with qualified candidates in a timely manner. You will manage the full recruitment lifecycle, from sourcing and screening candidates to coordinating interviews and facilitating offers. Collaborating closely with hiring managers and HR teams, you will develop strategic recruitment plans tailored to the unique demands of the transportation sector. Ultimately, your work will contribute to building a skilled and motivated workforce that supports the company’s mission and long-term success.

Responsibilities:

Driver Sourcing & Screening, contact qualified Class A CDL drivers.

  • Conduct detailed phone screenings to verify:
    • Minimum experience requirement
    • Safety history
    • Employment history
    • License status
    • Work eligibility
  • Accurately assess driver fit for Hermann’s freight network and culture.
  • Proven experience using Applicant Tracking Systems and managing full-cycle recruitment (Required); experience with Tenth Street Systems (Preferred).
  • Ensure all required driver documents are uploaded and complete.
  • Document clear, concise, and detailed notes for every driver conversation.
  • Maintain accurate status updates within Tenstreet to ensure visibility across departments.

Qualification & Pre-Employment Process

  • Run background checks and motor vehicle reports (MVR)
  • Initiate and monitor pre-employment verifications.
  • Coordinate and track drug testing requirements
  • Ensure all DOT and company hiring standards are met prior to approval
  • Communicate closely with Safety and Operations as needed

Candidate Engagement & Follow-Up

  • Maintain consistent follow-up with drivers to keep interest and momentum
  • Proactively address questions regarding pay, lanes, home time, and expectations
  • Ensure drivers are properly prepared for orientation

Orientation & Travel Coordination

  • Schedule orientation dates
  • Arrange travel logistics when necessary, including:
    • Hotel accommodations
    • Flights
    • Bus transportation
    • Confirm attendance and arrival details
    • Provide reminder communication leading up to orientation
  • Demonstrated knowledge of staffing services and technical recruiting practices.
  • Experience in recruiting within the transportation, warehousing, or related industries (Preferred).
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills to engage effectively with candidates and internal stakeholders.
  • Ability to manage multiple recruitment projects simultaneously while meeting deadlines.
  • Experience with organizing recruiting events.
  • Familiarity with contract recruitment and temporary staffing models.
  • Background in internet recruiting and leveraging social media platforms for talent acquisition.
  • Certification in Human Resources or Recruitment (e.g., SHRM-CP, AIRS / Preferred)
  • Knowledge of labor laws and compliance related to staffing in the transportation industry.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Minimum 2 years recruiting experience (transportation industry preferred)
  • Strong understanding of CDL-A driver qualifications and DOT regulations
  • Proficiency in Tenstreet is required
  • Ability to manage multiple applicants simultaneously
  • Strong documentation and organizational skills
  • Clear and professional communication skills
  • Self-motivated and accountable
  • This is a fast-paced, performance-driven environment requiring:

  • Ability to manage deadlines
