POSITION PURPOSE
Under general supervision of the Director, the Recruiter/HR Generalist works closely with the HR team and hiring managers in a fast-paced environment, providing assistance with and facilitating various HR processes. Serves as an integral partner in managing recruiting activities and building candidate relationships; often providing candidates with their first impressions of Huntsville Memorial Hospital. The ideal candidate will work effectively with internal and external customers and candidates; possess great communication skills, and enjoy the challenges of helping to build a great organization of talented individuals. Contributes to the overall success of the team by providing a high level of customer service and project coordination to human resources functions as needed, including recruiting and on-boarding/off-boarding.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS

- Recruit top talent including sourcing and interviewing for all departments of the hospital.
- Pre-screen resumes and candidates for appropriate qualifications and cultural fit for open positions.
- Ensures personnel requisitions are completed and posted in a timely manner.
- Schedule interviews and phone screens, working directly with internal and external candidates and hiring managers or external recruiting agencies. Identify opportunities for improving candidate experience and scheduling efficiency and oversees interview tools.
- Partner with other HR team members for planning recruitment activities.
- Manage requisitions, update candidate records and job posting in the applicant tracking system.
- Draft offer letters and make candidate offers, ensuring adherence to wage and salary guidelines.
- Schedules new employees for hospital orientation. Ensures proper communication to department managers regarding orientation and any delay in start date.
- Assists in scheduling and conducting exit interviews.
- Assist with various human resource projects as needed, including event planning and other HR duties as assigned.
- Displays professional behavior, strong business acumen and maintains strict confidentiality with sensitive information.
- Ensures integrity of employee data through attention to detail.
- Assists with regulatory compliance of staff files including: job descriptions, competencies, performance evaluations, licenses and certifications.
- Abides by the HMH Legal Compliance Code of Conduct.
- Maintains patient confidentiality and appropriate handling of PHI.
- Maintains a safe work environment and reports safety concerns appropriately.
- Performs all other related duties as assigned.
LATITUDE, CONTACTS/INTERACTIONS
All positions of Huntsville Memorial Hospital are part of an interdisciplinary team, and as such, participate in the care and service delivery process through effective interaction with other team members. Primarily interacts with hospital staff, medical staff, patients, and visitors.
Requirements
Education: High school diploma or GED required; bachelor’s degree preferred.
Experience: prior Healthcare Human Resources experience preferred.
License/Certifications: None required, PHR or SRHM-CP preferred.
Required Skills: Excellent interpersonal, problem solving, technology, organizational, oral and written communication skills. Ability to maintain a high level of confidentiality.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS AND WORKING CONDITIONS
Frequent: sitting, standing, walking, & reaching.
Occasional: lifting, carrying, bending, & squatting,
Visual and hearing acuity required. Work is inside, with good ventilation and comfortable temperature.
Possible exposure to: toxic/caustic chemicals or detergents, communicable diseases, blood borne pathogens.
