Title: Technical Recruiter
Location: Muncie, IN
Hire Type: 90-day contract to hire
Shift: Mon-Fri, 8am-5pm
Hourly Rate: $40-43.00
Benefits: As a contract employee of Sterling, you are eligible to receive a Full Employee Benefits Package that includes paid time off, paid holidays, 3 medical plans to choose from, dental & vision plans, 401(k), and an Employee Stock Ownership (ESOP) plan.
Must have Skill Set: Production and/or software recruiting experience

Overview: Responsible for full cycle recruiting support for production and engineering workforce. Partners with hiring managers, HR, and business leaders to execute effective sourcing and hiring strategies that meet operational and technical talent needs while delivering a strong candidate experience.

Job Duties:

  • Source and recruit for production, skilled trades, and engineering roles using job boards, social media, direct sourcing, referrals, and resume databases
  • Partner with hiring managers to define job requirements, assess candidates, and drive timely hiring decisions
  • Create, post, and manage job postings through the ATS and external platforms
  • Screen candidates, coordinate interviews, and support onsite interview processes as needed
  • Manage offers, background checks, pay recommendations, and onboarding coordination
  • Build and maintain talent pipelines for current and future hiring needs
  • Support campus, internship, and early-career recruiting initiatives
  • Track recruiting activity and provide regular updates to stakeholders
  • Deliver a positive candidate experience while supporting company brand and compliance requirements

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree required
  • 5+ years of recruiting experience in manufacturing, production, engineering, or technical environments
  • Experience sourcing both hourly and professional/engineering talent
  • Proficiency with LinkedIn, Indeed, MS Office, and ATS systems (Kenexa/BrassRing preferred)
  • Strong communication, organization, and relationship-building skills
  • Ability to manage multiple requisitions in a fast-paced environment
