Position
Redevelopment Project Manager / Redevelopment Project Manager Senior (Economic Development team)
Responsibilities
Serve as the Heritage District Liaison, investigating concerns from merchants, property owners, and residents and coordinating with the appropriate Town division(s) for resolution.
Act as the key point of contact for Heritage District related capital improvement projects, participating on internal and external project teams for all redevelopment‑oriented capital improvement projects.
Create and maintain relationships with land owners/representatives, site selectors, consultants, commercial brokers, developers, regional stakeholders, and utility partners.
Manage all engagement with Heritage District merchants.
Lead placemaking initiatives, including the creation and implementation of the downtown Heritage District wayfinding masterplan.
Oversee redevelopment projects, including public art programs.
Facilitate private development projects in the Heritage District through the Town planning and plan‑review process.
Support Heritage District operation and management, including parking and facilities maintenance.
Communicate relevant Heritage District project details with the Town’s Communications team to ensure timely updates on project impacts and milestones.
Minimum Qualifications (Economic Development Project Manager)
Bachelor’s Degree or higher in Business, Public Administration, Communications, Economic Development, Urban Planning, Economics, Marketing, or a closely related field.
Five (5) years of relevant experience in business attraction, business retention and expansion, small business development/entrepreneurship, marketing, redevelopment, or related economic development service line.
Licensing/Certifications (Economic Development Project Manager)
Valid AZ driver’s license.
Minimum Qualifications (Senior)
Bachelor’s Degree or higher in a related field.
Seven (7+) years of relevant experience in a related field.
Experience in continuous process improvement planning related to metrics and goals.
Ability to mentor and provide support to other team members.
Licensing/Certifications (Senior)
Industry‑specific professional certification, or the ability to achieve certification within one year (e.g., Certified Economic Developer (CEcD), Professional in Destination Management (PDM), PRSA Content Marketing Certificate, Professional Certified Marketer (PCM), Accreditation in Public Relations (APR), Leadership in Place Management (LPM)).
Valid Arizona Driver’s License.
Work Arrangement
This is an at‑will, FLSA exempt position. The employee may work in a hybrid arrangement: approximately half (50%) of the work time is spent on‑site, with the remaining half (50%) remote. Currently, Monday and Thursday are eligible remote workdays, while Tuesday and Wednesday are in‑office. Modified work privileges are approved at the discretion of the department director and may be changed or discontinued at any time. Employees must reside in the state of Arizona.
