Hiring Range: $42,000 - $49,350 annually

Job Duties

**This posting is open to current employees of the Virginia Employment Commission. Contract employees are ineligible.**

**This position may report to any office located in the Southwest District.**

Provides and evaluates re-employment services for UI claimants identified as likely to exhaust benefits and ex-service members under the RESEA program.

Serves as a RESEA program subject matter expert; trains VEC and other One-stop Partner staff on standards and requirements; assists in ensuring rapid re-employment for claimants, shortening the duration of UI claims, and identifying or preventing erroneous UI payments; and recommends corrective action to improve program performance.

Conducts and coordinates individual and group RESEA sessions.

Works with clients to obtain gainful employment; schedules meetings and conducts interviews; identifies and documents needs; provides career counseling and coaching; makes referrals to support services; conducts job matching and makes job referrals; assesses continued eligibility and re-employment needs; enters information in databases; and tracks progress and outcomes.


Minimum Qualifications

Knowledge of interviewing techniques; career counseling and job placement guidelines, tools, and processes; and office operations and etiquette.

Strong customer service, oral and written communication, facilitation, problem solving, case management, and computer skills (experience using Microsoft Office Professional and/or similar software).

Ability to assess skill sets and re-employment needs, develop and implement re-employment plans, and provide job coaching; interact effectively with employers and the public; discuss, interpret, and apply agency standards and procedures; conduct interviews and research; develop strong working relationships with partners; collect and analyze data; prepare correspondence, reports, and training materials; make presentations; and track and monitor performance.

Must have and maintain a valid drivers license and be able to travel throughout the workforce service area, as needed.

Additional Considerations

Experience working with job service programs, employee selection and placement, and/or career counseling.

Knowledge of Workforce Innovation and Opportunity Act, re-employment programs, and UI eligibility requirements.

Experience working with employment and/or career plans and/or managing clients through the employment process.

Credentials in workforce development (CWDP, WPDP, etc.).
