NOW SEEKING: Lab Technicians - ONLY LOCAL CANDIDATES WILL BE CONSIDERED

TECH 2000 is currently seeking Laboratory Technician candidates experienced with Gas Chromatography analysis for several opportunities at a client's refinery in Three Rivers, TX.

The ideal candidate would have a Bachelor's in Chemistry and 1+ years of experience working as a chemist/lab technician in a chemical manufacturing, refinery, or third-party analytical laboratory performing routine instrumental analyses following ASTM methodology.

Major Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

• Perform laboratory tests producing reliable and precise data to support Operations in accordance to standardized methodology (ASTM/UOP, etc) and company protocols (SOP)
• Perform routine & non-routine lab analyses as required
• Routinely operate a variety of standard lab equipment including: Gas Chromatography and its various detectors (MS, FID, TCD, etc.) and SFC; Spectroscopic instruments, including ICP, XRD/XRF, FTIR and UV-Vis; Distillation apparatus, Titrimeters (Karl Fischer, Bromine Number, etc.)

Qualifications/Competencies:

• BS Chemistry with 1+y experience chemical/petroleum manufacturing environment
• Strong mechanical aptitude demonstrated through the ability to troubleshoot and maintain lab instrumentation
• Solid math and statistical analysis capabilities - able to read and interpret data and know when to escalate, how to determine issues in production and how to resolve them.
• Computer Skills including Chromatography Data Systems, LIMS, MS Word/Excel/Outlook
• Knowledge of standardized methodology - ASTM/UOP, etc.

DETAILS

• Shift: 12hr Rotating Days/Nights
• Wage: $28-30/hour
• Location: Three Rivers, TX area - Must live within commuting distance of location.
