Position Summary:
The Regional Sales Manager is responsible for setting the sales strategies, and brand goals to lead the Sales team to the execution of annual Sales plan. Provide strategic oversight and accountability in the planning and monitoring of the profitability within the Region. Perform market research and analysis, including competitive reviews to keep abreast of market trends. Manage top level Distributor Leadership to achieve goals. Effectively communicate to all pertinent audiences: internal, distributor, trade, and consumer.
Critical Tasks:ALL\tSales Execution (40%)
\tMonitor and drive performance to ensure the Region delivers on financial performance goals; ensure budgets are adhered to; analyze performance to address variances and ensure corrective actions are implemented in a timely manner.
\tProvide direction on pricing strategies that are aligned across the value chain; possess knowledge of pricing models, structures and discounting patterns.
\tOversee and ensure Sales Reps are effectively managing their activities and hitting their target goals.
\tDevelop and implement sales incentives and other programming to support sales team throughout the year.
\tOrganization and hosting of Trade Shows and Events throughout the year.
\tStrategic Company Planning (20%)
\tProvide Sales leadership in the development of the company Planning process and annual Latest Forecast (volume and revenue) to ensure overall business results are achieved.
\tProvide Sales leadership in the development of the regional depletion planning process, spreading the company volume plan by item across each region.
\tProvide Sales leadership in reviewing year-end risk assessment to understand where plan revisions may be warranted, and sales execution needs focus.
\tOptimize sales territories and staff based on business potential, adjusting quarterly, as needed.
\tYearly forecasting of sales projections against brand goals.
\tKey Relationships (20%)
\tCultivate relationships with all suppliers to inspire confidence and trust for long term healthy partnerships.
\tCultivate relationships with key accounts to become a point of reference to them and provide strategic direction.
\tMaintain relationships with Trade in order to gain first-hand information on business trends, customer needs as well as perspectives on distributor and performance.
\tAttend industry events and meet opinion leaders of our business to keep relevant to the industry.
\tLeadership (20%)
\tOne on one meetings with Sales Reps to review current activities and provide guidance to ensure goals are achieved.
\tLead regular team meetings to communicate company updates, upcoming planning activities, and key deadlines.
\tServe as a point of contact for our key clients.
\tPresent company sales performance and key sales initiatives to family during quarterly financial meetings.
\tDevelop and direct a strong team of leaders, improving current performance and encouraging and allowing for growth, development and innovation.
\tAlign everyone across the team with purpose and values, as well as our Culture.
\tCultivate cross department relationships to ensure cohesiveness, strong communication and alignment throughout the company allowing for exceptional business results.
\tActively develop your own Leadership style, knowledge and skillset.
Professional Requirements:
Education/Experience: Bachelor's degree in Business or another related field or equivalent experience. 3 - 5 years of increasingly responsible sales management experience in wine, beer, spirits, or related consumer packaged goods.
Skills: Strong analytical and strategic skills. Excellent presentation and communication skills. Ability to focus on multiple tasks and deadlines and effectively prioritize and manage them. Outstanding leadership skills with a demonstrated ability to bring out the best in those who work with you. Attention to detail. Strong PC skills (Windows, Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
Knowledge: Heavy experience in Import sales within the three-tiered distribution system, especially related to luxury or image-oriented products. Strong interest in wine with a demonstrated knowledge of wine on a global level.
Physical: Must be able to work a flexible schedule including evenings and weekends. Must be able to travel 20-30% of the time, including overnight stays both domestic and international. Must be able to lift and carry 40 pounds.
Other: Must have a valid Driver's license in the state employed and must meet the Company's automobile insurance requirements.
