Area Sales Manager – USA (Advanced Manufacturing Technology) Location: Field-based (Focused on California) Our client is an award-winning, globally recognized developer of advanced digital inspection, measurement, and AI-assisted vision systems. Headquartered in Europe, they partner with leading international manufacturers to streamline inspection processes, reduce subjectivity, increase efficiency, and transition into smarter digital manufacturing environments. As part of their aggressive international expansion, they are seeking a highly motivated, commercially driven Area Sales Manager to pioneer business growth across high-potential US manufacturing regions. We are looking for a high-energy, field-based sales professional who thrives on building technical relationships, uncovering new business opportunities, and delivering hands-on technical demonstrations. The ideal candidate will hit the ground running by leveraging existing industry contacts within advanced manufacturing sectors to grow strategic accounts. Key Responsibilities Drive Territory Growth: Actively prospect, schedule customer visits, and build a robust pipeline through high-activity, technical solution selling. Target Key Verticals: Develop new business within medical device manufacturing, precision engineering, electronics, automation, aerospace, defense, and advanced manufacturing sectors. Engage Technical Buyers: Build and maintain strong relationships with manufacturing engineers, process engineers, quality teams, operations leaders, and key technical decision-makers. Deliver Technical Demonstrations: Conduct regular onsite customer visits, product presentations, evaluations, and technical training sessions. Collaborate Internationally: Work closely with the internal Applications and Engineering teams overseas to deliver world-class, customized client solutions. Represent the Brand: Attend and support key industry trade shows, exhibitions, and customer networking events. Sales Administration: Maintain accurate pipeline activity and records within the CRM system, and provide regular sales forecasts and market feedback to leadership. Required Qualifications & Experience 3–6+ years of experience in technical sales, industrial sales, automation, industrial vision, metrology, inspection systems, or related manufacturing technologies. Proven track record of selling directly into advanced manufacturing environments (experience with medical device manufacturers is a massive advantage). Strong Commercial Drive: A proven "hunter" mentality with a track record of generating new business and expanding existing accounts. Hands-on Aptitude: Completely comfortable conducting onsite technical product demonstrations and presentations. Field-First Mindset: A highly motivated self-starter who thrives on high field activity and is willing to travel regularly. Established Network: Existing relationships or contacts within manufacturing, engineering, or automation industries in the target regions is a significant plus. Tech-Savvy: Strong proficiency with CRM systems and Microsoft Office (Outlook, Excel, Word, Teams). Excellent communication, negotiation, and presentation skills.
