    DEPARTMENT DESCRIPTION
    At UW Medical Center Montlake, the No. 1 ranked hospital in Washington state (U.S. News & World Report, 2023-2024), is staffed by board-certified emergency medicine physicians and highly trained emergency nurses who provide high-quality, compassionate emergency care for all in need 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.
    As part of a major medical center and located on the University of Washington campus, the emergency department is equipped to treat the most complex and critical emergency medical conditions and illnesses. We provide specialized care in areas such as cardiology, stroke, high-risk pregnancyincluding a neonatal intensive care unitoncology, transplantation and orthopedics.

    PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Performs Point-of-Care (POC) Testing, splinting, and wound care
  • Assists patients to exam room and documents patient history, medications and vital signs
  • Prepare and clean exam rooms
  • Assists RN with triage process
  • Facilitates flow of patients and maximizes operational efficiency
  • Act as a liaison between patient, patients family and providers
  • Assist provider with procedures and medical exams
  • Transports patients within hospital departments

    REQUIRED POSITION QUALIFICATIONS
  • High school diploma or GED equivalent
  • Eligible for licensure in the State of Washington as a Medical Assistant-Registered; attestation must be completed by the applicable provider and submitted to the state within 7 days of hire. Licensure is not transferable between UW clinics/departments.
  • Six months experience in a health care setting preferred
  • Valid American Heart Association (AHA) Basic Life Support (BLS) for Healthcare Provider CPR card
