Job Summary: The Registered Nurse (RN) Emergency Department provides critical nursing care to patients presenting with a wide range of acute illnesses and injuries. The RN performs rapid assessments, administers treatments, and collaborates with the interdisciplinary care team to stabilize and manage patients across all age groups in a high-acuity emergency setting.

Responsibilities
Perform rapid triage, assessment, and stabilization of patients presenting with emergency conditions.
Provide direct nursing care for patients experiencing stroke, sepsis, trauma, myocardial infarction, cardiac arrest, and respiratory failure.
Administer emergency medications, IV infusions, and specialty drips according to physician orders and established protocols.
Utilize specialty equipment including Rapid Infusor and Arctic Sun when indicated.
Monitor patient responses and adjust interventions accordingly while maintaining accurate clinical documentation.
Collaborate with physicians, advanced practice providers, and interdisciplinary teams to coordinate patient care.
Support patient care for newborn, pediatric, adult, and geriatric populations.
Maintain readiness to float to other units as needed.

Requirements:
Minimum two (2) years of Emergency Department experience required.
Experience caring for pediatric patients in an ED setting required.
Prior travel nursing experience required.
Charge nurse capability highly preferred.
Must reside at least 75 miles from the facility for travel rate eligibility; local candidates within 75 miles will be considered at a lesser rate.
Ability to manage high-acuity patient populations and multiple emergency conditions.
Experience administering critical drips including pressors, vasodilators, anti-arrhythmics, sedation medications, and anticoagulants.
Experience using EPIC electronic medical records system required.
Must provide two recent Emergency Department Charge or Manager RN references.

Education: Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN).

Certifications Required:
Basic Life Support (BLS) American Heart Association.
Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) American Heart Association.
Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) American Heart Association.
NIH Stroke Scale (NIHSS).
Trauma Nursing Core Course (TNCC).

License: Active New York State Registered Nurse (RN) license verified through NURSYS.
