Job Summary: The Registered Nurse (RN) Intensive Care Unit provides specialized nursing care to critically ill patients requiring advanced monitoring and life-support interventions. The RN performs comprehensive patient assessments, manages complex equipment and therapies, and collaborates with multidisciplinary teams to deliver high-quality critical care.

Responsibilities
Provide direct nursing care to critically ill patients in the ICU across neuro/medical, surgical/trauma, and cardiothoracic intensive care settings.
Monitor and manage patients with conditions such as stroke, sepsis, altered mental status, respiratory failure, congestive heart failure, trauma, and post-operative complications.
Operate and monitor advanced life-support equipment including ventilators, intra-aortic balloon pumps (IABP), CRRT systems, ventriculostomy devices, ICP monitoring systems, and targeted temperature management devices.
Administer and titrate critical care medications and infusions while monitoring patient responses.
Collaborate with physicians, advanced practice providers, and interdisciplinary teams to develop and implement patient care plans.
Maintain accurate clinical documentation and communicate patient status changes promptly.
Float to other units as required, excluding Behavioral Health and Emergency Department unless holding patients.

Requirements
Minimum two (2) years of ICU experience required (ICU, SICU, CTICU, Trauma ICU, Medical ICU, or Neuro ICU).
Experience with Continuous Renal Replacement Therapy (CRRT) using Prismaflex, PRISMA, or NxStage required.
Cardiac and heart surgery experience highly preferred.
Charge nurse experience preferred.
Prior travel nursing experience required.
Ability to manage high-acuity patients using advanced critical care equipment and therapies.
Skills checklist matching the ICU specialty required at submission.
Driver's license with address matching submission demographics required.
RTO must be included at time of submission.
Experience using EPIC electronic medical records system required.
Local candidates within 75 miles will be considered at a local rate.

Education: Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN) or Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN).

Certifications
Basic Life Support (BLS) American Heart Association.
Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) American Heart Association.
NIH Stroke Scale (NIHSS).

License
Active New York State Registered Nurse (RN) license verified through NURSYS.
Verification of all active RN licenses required.
