Varying shifts available; inquire at interview. Additional $3/hour facility differential for hours worked, plus $1.50–$2.50 shift differential. Starting wage $50,000/hour. Numerous training and development opportunities Responsibilities Under limited supervision of a Nursing Director/Associate or Nurse Supervisor, provides professional nursing care for ill, injured, or disabled inmates. Provides clinical direction and guidance to Licensed Practical Nurses and direct care staff, and provides direct patient nursing care and treatment within the scope of licensure in a correctional setting. Performs patient care in a clinic or hospital setting. Administers medications, transcribes and carries out doctor's orders, assesses patients utilizing protocols, triages, and assists in moving patients. Qualifications Minimum: A current license in good standing to practice as a Registered Nurse in Nebraska or authority based on the Nurse Licensure Compact to practice as a Registered Nurse in Nebraska. Preferred: Experience in assigning, reviewing, leading, or supervising the work of others. Must possess a valid driver's license. Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs. with assistance. Will complete four to eight weeks of on‑the‑job training. Must submit to background security check. Applicants accepting a job offer must pass the pre-employment medical examination and a drug test. Once at the Staff Training Academy, must successfully complete the fully paid Nebraska Department of Correctional Services Pre‑service Training Program.
