Job Summary: The Registered Nurse (RN) Medical/Surgical provides comprehensive nursing care to adult patients recovering from surgical procedures and managing acute medical conditions. The RN performs patient assessments, administers treatments, and collaborates with the interdisciplinary care team to ensure safe and effective patient care.

Responsibilities
Provide direct nursing care to adult patients in the Medical/Surgical unit.
Monitor and manage patients recovering from surgical procedures and acute medical conditions such as abdominal pain, cholelithiasis, fractures, osteoarthritis, back pain, and bariatric surgery.
Perform patient assessments, administer medications, and implement physician-directed treatment plans.
Utilize and manage specialty equipment including IV pumps, nasogastric tubes, and feeding tubes.
Document patient assessments, interventions, and progress in the electronic medical record system.
Collaborate with physicians, advanced practice providers, and interdisciplinary teams to coordinate patient care.
Float to other units as required based on staffing and patient care needs.

Requirements
Minimum two (2) years of Medical/Surgical nursing experience required.
Prior travel nursing experience required.
Ability to care for adult patient populations in a post-surgical and acute care environment.
Experience managing common medical/surgical conditions and postoperative recovery.
Skills checklist matching the Medical/Surgical specialty required at submission.
Driver's license with address matching submission demographics required.
RTO must be included at time of submission.
Experience using EPIC electronic medical records system required.
Local candidates within 75 miles will be considered at a local rate.

Education: Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN).

Certifications: Basic Life Support (BLS) American Heart Association.

License
Active New York State Registered Nurse (RN) license verified through NURSYS.
Verification of all active RN licenses required.
