Registered Nurse (RN) - PCU/Telemetry

Job Overview Department: 35203 Atrium Health Lincoln - Nursing: Telemetry/Progressive Type: Full Time Hours per Week: 36 Schedule: Day shift variable – three 12‑hour shifts per week Pay Range: $38.20 – $57.30 per hour Location: 38‑bed telemetry unit caring for an adult population with a wide range of acute and chronic conditions such as chest pain, stroke, cardiac dysrhythmia, and COPD. Responsibilities Provide and coordinate comprehensive patient care through the nursing process to deliver safe, therapeutic care in accordance with established standards, policies, and procedures. Use evidence‑based practice, clinical decision making, compassion, and communication skills while leading efforts to create the safest patient environment and best patient experience across the continuum. Requirements Education: Graduate of a Board of Nursing approved nursing education program. Certification / Registration / License: Basic Life Support (BLS) for Healthcare Providers certification. Registered Nurse (RN) license issued by the state in which the RN practices. Active RN multi‑state compact and/or single‑state license with privileges to practice in the required state(s). Certifications to be completed within 6 months of hire (recommended): Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) National Institutes of Health Stroke Scale (NIHSS) certification Experience: Typically requires 1 year of experience in clinical nursing. Knowledge / Skills / Abilities: Strong clinical judgment and critical thinking. Time management, prioritization and problem‑solving skills. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. Ability to work in a fast‑paced, dynamic environment. Proficiency in operating computer functions and electronic medical records. Physical Requirements: Ability to sit, stand, walk, lift, squat, bend, reach above shoulders, and twist frequently. Capability to lift and support up to 35 pounds; push/pull with 30 lbs. force; perform a sliding transfer of 150 lbs. with a second person present. Functional speech, vision, hearing, and fine‑hand manipulation for IV insertion and other procedures. Maneuver foot pedals on carts or machines. Perform physical safety interventions such as patient restraint and verbal de‑escalation if needed. May be exposed to chemical and hazardous waste, blood and body fluids, and communicable disease – protective clothing and equipment must be used as necessary. Respond quickly to changes in patient and/or unit conditions. Physical abilities testing may be required. Preferred: Bachelor of Science degree in Nursing (BSN). Telehealth Licensing Note: Licensed nurses practicing via telehealth/telenursing/virtual modalities must be licensed or hold privileges to practice in the state where the client(s) are located.
