Additional Information About the Role Missouri Baptist Hospital in Sullivan, MO is actively seeking a Registered Respiratory Therapist to join the team. Come be part of an environment where you can thrive and make a difference in patient care. Shifts: 12‑hour shifts per week, 6:30pm–7am, rotating holidays, every 3rd weekend. $5,000 sign‑on bonus. Students 6 months from graduating from an accredited Respiratory Therapy program are welcome to apply. Overview Missouri Baptist Sullivan Hospital is a designated critical access hospital committed to providing quality health care service to residents in Crawford, Franklin, and Washington counties. The hospital has enhanced and expanded the health care services available to the greater Sullivan community with its state‑of‑the‑art emergency department, modern childbirth center, critical care unit, multi‑room surgical suite, expanded cardiac rehab services, and a cancer center. A 22,500 square‑foot medical office building provides offices for primary care physicians as well as space for a variety of visiting medical and surgical specialists from the St. Louis area. Missouri Baptist Sullivan Hospital operates four rural health clinics providing quality health care to surrounding communities. In addition, the hospital operates a comprehensive Therapy and Rehabilitation department and an award‑winning Wound Care Center with two hyperbaric chambers. Preferred Qualifications Role Purpose: Provides direct patient‑care activities related to respiratory care, including assessment, diagnosis, planning, implementation, and evaluation within the guidelines of the hospital and department. Can independently apply advanced clinical respiratory expertise and scientific knowledge, including best practices, serving as a resource to others as part of the patient‑care team. Ensures patient safety by providing care in an effective, developmentally and age‑appropriate manner while complying with all quality and regulatory requirements as well as quality improvement initiatives. Responsibilities Effectively communicates by participating in the exchange of information, including documentation, handoff, and works collaboratively with the health‑care team. Provides education and training about respiratory therapy treatments and procedures to others—including patients, families, students, new employees and members of the health‑care team—utilizing diversity and learning styles. Holds self‑accountable and seeks out opportunities for continuous learning and feedback and is able to perform multiple related duties, prioritizing and applying effective time management. Performs various diagnostic and therapeutic respiratory procedures according to established standards, procedures, guidelines and policies. Applies respiratory knowledge and clinical expertise, including the ability to assess, analyze, and troubleshoot as needed. Demonstrates advanced clinical and critical‑care skills to support additional job responsibilities such as ECMO support, mechanical ventilator support, bronchoscopies, sleep lab, labor and delivery, cardiopulmonary and circulatory rehabilitation, Basic Life Support (BLS), etc. as needed. Minimum Requirements Education: Associate’s degree or Certificate of Completion of an ACEN‑Accredited Respiratory Therapy program. Experience: No experience required; supervisor experience not required. Licenses & Certifications: Basic Cardiovascular Life Support (BCLS), Respiratory Care Practitioner, Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT). Preferred Requirements Education: Bachelor’s degree.
