Course OA3412 Description:
This course further expands on the role of Human Systems Integration within the context of the Department of Defense Systems Engineering Process in the DoD Acquisition Lifecycle. Students examine select acquisition activities (e.g., Joint Capabilities Integration Development System, or JCIDS) and the manner in which HSI practitioners influence these activities. This course also focuses on leveraging the unique activities of HSI practitioners to assist/support program managers and lead systems engineers in developing human-centered systems that optimize total system performance while minimizing cost and risk. The above referenced courses will be delivered remotely via the NPS Sakai virtual learning platform.
Minimum Requirements:
- The contractor must have an advanced degree (minimum Masters) in Human Systems Integration, or other related academic field (Systems Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Human Factors Engineering, Psychology, etc.)
- The contractor must have a minimum of five years of experience conducting HSI-related activities.
- The contractor must have a minimum of ten years of experience working in the DoD or other uniformed service.
- Previous teaching experience is preferred, but not required.
- DoD certificates in HSI or related fields is preferred, but not required.
- Personnel must be U.S. Citizens.
Period of Performance:
December 30, 2024, through March 26, 2025, including one week prior to the beginning of classes to prep instructional materials and one week after classes to complete grading.
