Remote Remote Part-Time - Experienced Haskell Developer

Join our Haskellers team at Stack Builders ! We’re looking for an experienced functional programming engineer to support a long-term project that is almost entirely built in Haskell. This is a staff augmentation role where you’ll contribute to the development and optimization of a mission-critical application with high scalability and data integrity requirements. We’re seeking a part-time remote contractor (20–30 hours per week) with strong Haskell expertise and the ability to collaborate on database and infrastructure enhancements. This role requires a proactive professional who thrives in fast-paced environments and takes pride in delivering robust, high-quality code. Advanced English (spoken and written). You will be directly communicating with the client. Must be able to work as an independent contractor . For candidates based in the US, an LLC, S-Corp, or C-Corp structure is required 5+ years of professional Haskell experience with outstanding programming skills. Strong experience with Yesod and database-related libraries (Persistent, Esqueleto). Solid background in writing clean, testable, and scalable code. Experience applying property-based testing. Strong collaboration and problem-solving skills with excellent verbal and written communication . Availability to work 20–30 hours per week and overlap 4 hours with EDT. Bonus: Frontend experience with TypeScript/React. Responsibilities Architect and build backend solutions in Haskell (95% of work). Implement and optimize database operations (Persistent, Esqueleto). Collaborate on infrastructure enhancements to ensure scalability and performance. Contribute to code quality practices, including property-based testing (QuickCheck, related libraries). Occasionally collaborate on frontend components with TypeScript (e.g., React, jQuery, Bootstrap, Webpack). Participate in agile rituals: stand-ups, sprint planning, retrospectives. Engage directly with the client during rituals, providing updates, gathering requirements, and ensuring alignment with their needs. The projected hourly range for this position is from $47.00 to $57.00/ hour, determined by the candidate's interview outcome, skills, experience, education, and alignment with market data. 100% remote work modality.
