This is a contingent position, meaning employment is dependent upon the successful award of the associated contract to Aretum and completion of any required background investigation or security clearance verification.

Job Summary
Aretum is seeking a skilled and motivated Senior Python Developer. As a Senior Python Developer, you will assist in leading the integration of a custom application with other client based systems.
Due to the nature of our work as a federal consulting organization, employees may be expected to handle Controlled Unclassified Information (CUI) and must adhere to applicable safeguarding and compliance requirements.
Responsibilities
Work cross-functionally in an Agile environment
Build FastAPIs for the display of content
Create microservices
Work on front-end and back-end code
Mentor peers and junior developers in Python design
Build ETL processes
Work in a highly collaborative environment
Juggle multiple tasks at once
Work independently and collaboratively as needed
Utilize interpersonal skills and strong communication skills
Work directly with the Project Manager to support emerging client needs
8+ years of solid Python development experience
8+ years of overall (OOP) programming experience
Bachelor’s Degree (or 2 additional years of experience)
API development and integration experience
Experience with Microservices
Experience with JavaScript and JQuery
Experience with Search engines, such as Solr or Elasticsearch
Experience designing and developing enterprise Web and Search systems
Experience with enterprise database technologies, such as Postgres and MySQL
Experience building and managing container technologies such as Docker, Podman, Kubernetes, etc.
Comfortable with working with open source-based solutions
Familiar with enterprise use of Python
Expert in continuous integration/continuous delivery solutions
Experience with large-scale AWS based solutions and Terraform
Agile environment experience
Preferred Qualifications
Bachelor's Degree in computer science, engineering or related field
Experience with the federal government
Experience with FastAPIs (Highly preferred)
Travel Requirements
This is a remote position; however, occasional travel may be required based on project needs, client meetings, team collaboration events, or training sessions. Travel is expected to be less than 10% and will be communicated in advance whenever possible.
