Summary: ZipRecruiter is looking for a detail-oriented Staff Accountant III that possesses solid communication, organizational and analytical skills. This position will be an integral part of the general ledger close and will report to the Sr. Manager, Accounting. The ideal candidate will be a self-starter with a solid understanding of U.S. GAAP, strong financial analysis skills and an ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment that seeks to improve existing processes as we scale our business while collaborating with Legal, People, FP&A, and Technology to serve as a trusted liaison in cross functional capacities. Responsibilities: Play an integral role in the general ledger month end closing process, including preparing journal entries, account reconciliations and supporting account analysis with an emphasis on adhering to deadlines Perform monthly general ledger reconciliation schedules by reviewing the general ledger activity and obtaining a full understanding of the account activity to support month-end reported balances Prepare journal entries and assist in month-end close processes in various accounting areas including, but not limited to accruals, prepaid expenses, and cost allocations Manage monthly marketing spend accruals and liaise with marketing agencies and internal stakeholders to ensure completeness and accuracy Prepare monthly bank reconciliations for multiple accounts, including foreign currency denominated accounts Process vendor payments, employee reimbursements, and corporate card expenses Understand the full accounts payable cycle including invoice and payment processing Stay current on changes to U.S. GAAP such as accounting standards updates and have an in-depth understanding of current standards Assist in documentation and monitoring of internal controls Support internal and external audit requests Ad hoc projects, reporting, and analysis as needed Qualifications: Ability to adapt and re-prioritize in a fast paced environment Excellent written and verbal communication skills Expresses information and ideas clearly Problem solves without explicit direction Able to receive and incorporate feedback Follows best practice methodology Understands their area of responsibility Minimum Qualifications: Bachelor’s degree in accounting, or related field Minimum 2+ years of relevant work experience Big 4 public accounting experience preferred Experience with platforms such as NetSuite and Ramp preferred As part of our team you’ll enjoy: Competitive salary Exceptional benefits package Flexible Vacation & Paid Time Off Employer-matched 401(k) plan The US base pay for this full-time position is  $67,500-$85,000 .
