Vantage Hemp is a private startup company that has established a world-class large-scale hemp extraction facility in Greeley, CO. The company aims to become a key player in the rapidly growing CBD Industry and plans to expand quickly using cutting-edge extraction technology. 

 Position Summary: This is a hands-on, full-time position with duties that include playing an integral role in the research and  development, troubleshooting of large scale production and development of new products at Vantage Hemp. This position will support research of existing and new product lines. The role is predominantly lab-based and located at our production facility in Greeley, CO.

 Essential Duties and Major Responsibilities:

  • Conduct research studies to further the company’s research for existing and new product lines.
  • Conduct processes on a small scale to assist in the development and troubleshooting of large-scale production at Vantage Hemp. The processes may involve distillation, extraction, crystalizing, and winterization. Also, filtration and liquid chromatography.
  • Researches, gathers data; writes, rewrites, and edits research briefs, plans, project proposals, and other written materials; and shares research information, summarizing data collection methods and research findings, with internal and external audiences.
  • Aid in the research into new syntheses and processes for future considerations of new products.
  • Assist in the development of formulations for final product lines.
  • Report all findings in weekly meetings to the executive team.
  • Maintain an up-to-date notebook.
  • Assist with other duties as assigned.

 Education and Experience needed for the role:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, or Biochemistry required.
  • Masters degree in a related scientific field preferred.
  • 2+ experience in a lab conducting chemical research and/or development.
  • Knowledge or experience in cannabinoid, or plant related molecule extraction and processing.
  • Prior experience extraction of CBD. 

 Specialized skills needed to be successful:

  • Demonstrate scientific creativity and take initiative.
  • Ability to multi-task and effectively manage timelines.
  • Ability to work in a team environment but have a high level of independence for planning and executing experiments.
  • Well-organized working style with flexibility/adaptability to change.
  • Knowledge of GMP requirements, ICH/FDA Guidelines.
  • Effective oral and written communications.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office and data analysis/interpretation.
  • Must be 18 years of age or older.

 Work Hours: The expected hours for this role will be 5 days a week, Monday – Friday, 8 hours a day. Employees' hours vary and are dependent on business needs, and some evenings and weekends may be needed to satisfy the needs of the position.

 Annual Salary: $57,784 to $65,000 (depending on experience)

 Benefits: For Full-Time eligible employees, paid time off (3 weeks), 80 hours of sick time, and Employer-paid health and dental coverage for the employee only.
