Job Description and Duties




The Department of State Hospitals (DSH) is seeking a dedicated and talented individual for a permanent Research Data Analyst I (RDA I) position in the Workers Compensation (WC) Program. Under direct supervision of the Staff Services Manager I, the RDA I will perform basic research and essential entry-level functions of a data analyst. Directions and assignments may also come from the Human Resources Chief, Administrative Services Deputy Director, or other department executive staff. The RDA I will work as a team member to gather, validate, and provide statistics and analyses on various data research and studies in response to WC cost reduction, claims tracking, and other departmental needs. The RDA I is also responsible for providing consultative services to DSH management and stakeholders.

Working Conditions

  • DSH-Sacramento is located at the new 11 floor high rise building
  • A majority of the essential functions of this position may be performed via telework and/or with flexible scheduling. Consistent with Policy Directive 5338, Telework may be considered with prior approval from management. If approved, incumbent is expected to provide in-office coverage on a rotational basis, and attend a variety of face-to-face meetings, and up to 5% travel throughout California as needed, with prior notice.
