Job Description:
Food Technologist/ Laboratory Technician to aid in ingredient applications and functionality evaluations
Responsibilities:
Aid in the development of new ingredient technology for sugar reduction and sodium reduction in company food and beverage products
Conduct bench top and pilot plant trials to optimize formulation and processes
Perform functional evaluations of new ingredients and record results
Perform sensory testing of prototypes and coordinate expert panel sensory tests
Perform shelf-life and stability evaluations
Coordinate team evaluations on a regular basis
Submit prototypes for analytical testing and compile results
Communicate with suppliers for ingredient requests and information
Write progress reports
Maintain and organize laboratory and supplies
Ensure laboratory safety
Requirements:
B.S. in Food Science or similar field and ?2 min years' experience
Ability to provide sensory descriptions of foods and beverages
Excellent verbal and written communication skills
Good record-keeping and organization
Ability to lift at least 40 pounds
