Primary Responsibilities:   

·         Oversee and maintain accuracy of daily data collection and bird care which may include weighing of feed & birds, counting of birds, temperature & water checks, etc

·         Work with other research technicians and the facility manager to ensure accurate implementation of research trials.

·         Maintain optimum biosecurity and animal welfare at all times.

·         Assist with data entry.

·         Assist with quality control of all research data.

·         Assist with facility maintenance.

Required Skills & Attributes:

·         Ability to multi-task, be detailed orientated and a natural organizer.

·         Must be able to work 40 hours per week and a schedule that includes weekend rotation.

·         Ability to communicate effectively in verbal and written form.

·         Ability to prioritize workload, to work independently and part of a team.

·         Ability to keep detailed and accurate records or research house events

·         Demonstrate an understanding of the relationships and tasks involved in research trials.

·         Ability to frequently lift, drag, pull, carry up to 50 pounds and lift birds repeatedly.

·         Must have reliable transportation.

·         Ability to lift feed buckets repeatedly to shoulder height

·         Will need to be able to work a flexible schedule. Attendance & punctuality on scheduled workdays is a must.
