Discovery Ranch, a leading residential treatment center in Utah, is seeking Residential Advisors to join our team at our Choices Community in Provo, Utah. The Choices Community is a short term observation, assessment and stabilization facility. We want individuals who are highly experienced and qualified to work with adolescents struggling with behavioral regulation. As a Residential Advisor, you will have the opportunity to work with our students, helping them to develop grit, resiliency, new skills and advance their personal growth. You will be part of a supportive team who are committed to helping adolescents heal mentally, physically, and emotionally. Your job will be to hold strong boundaries while developing healthy positive relationships. These relationships will help you connect, teach, and advise the adolescents at the Choices Community. Discovery Ranch combines the power of traditional and experiential therapies, to create a clinically sophisticated, relationship-based setting that promotes growth and healing.

Responsibilities

  • Maintain a safe and positive environment for the students.
  • Ensure the physical and emotional safety of all students, and respond to emergencies as needed
  • Help manage and document behavioral issues and progress.
  • Maintain healthy boundaries with students.
  • Monitor the students' daily routines
  • Attend and facilitate experiential activities, group therapy sessions and all other activities
  • Assist students with their personal, academic and extracurricular goals.
  • Help teach values such as Responsibility, Grit, Honesty, Respect, Courage, Kindness, and Accountability to students
  • Participate in ongoing training and development to maintain a high standard of care for students

Full Time or Part Time | $17-22/hour DOE

Current Open working Shifts:

Weekday Evenings/Weekend Mornings-Full Time: Saturday & Sunday 8:00am-4:00pm, Monday-Wednesday 3:30-11:00pm

Weekday Evenings/Weekend Evenings- Part Time: Thursday-Sunday: 3:30-11:00pm

Requirements

  • Must be able to pass a background check
  • 2+ years Experience working with youth or young adultsin the behavioral health field
  • 1+ years Experience as a Mentor/Coach/Residential advisor
  • 1+ Year Experience in a residential treatment center
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to work as part of a team
  • Must be able to demonstrate flexibility, patience, and adaptability in a fast-paced environment
  • Ability to respond effectively and efficiently in crisis situations
  • Passionate about working with young people and helping them to achieve their full potential.
  • A bachelor's degree in a related field (such as social work, psychology, or counseling) is preferred but not required
  • Must be able to pass motor vehicle record check
  • First Aid & CPR certified (we may provide)
