Under the general direction of the Residential QIDP, the Residential House Supervisor will ensure individuals with developmental and intellectual disabilities receive continuous active treatment in accordance with their Individual Support Plans (ISPs). The Supervisor will oversee the day to day operations of the residential facility. Additionally, the Supervisor will assure the well-being of program participants through assisting towards achieving personal goals, assuring the residential environment is clean and free from safety hazards, and document any incidents that may arise. The Supervisor is in charge of providing guidance and support to the DSP staff and program participants.

JOB FUNCTIONS: (include but not limited to the following)

  • Assist individuals with activities of daily living, goals, and other tasks.
  • Monitor and manage medication administration for residents in according with DHS standards.
  • Coordinate the implementation of the Individuals Implementation Strategies as provided by the QIDP.
  • Accurately track all behavior data in accordance with individuals behavior plan.
  • Ensure the safety of program participants.
  • Intervene and redirect participants maladaptive behaviors.
  • Comply with training requirements as directed by and other applicable regulators within designated timeline.
  • Coordinate home visits and participants attendance at scheduled events.
  • Ensure all activities in the residence are done with the individuals, including grocery shopping, house chores, and purchasing of personal items.
  • Ensure that the interior and exterior of residential facility is kept clean, organized, and tidy.
  • Enforce policies and procedures in compliance with program requirements.
  • Assist the QIDP in the management of house schedule.
  • Provide emergency coverage when staff are unable to attend work.
  • Supervise DSP staff and program participants.
  • Schedule residents appointments and ensures staff availability to escort individuals to appointment.
  • Monitor household expenses and purchase basic household needs.
  • Plan and coordinate group outings and community activities for program participants.
  • Complete required documentation including data collection for progress notes, drill schedules, training schedules, and outing reports.
  • Report problems or issues to Residential QIDP.
  • Schedule monthly house meetings for staff and residents.
  • Adhere to Rule 50 for Office of Inspector General reporting.
  • Other duties as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS AND REQUIREMENTS:

  • Associates degree from an accredited college required;
  • At least 3 years of experience working with individuals with developmental disabilities;
  • Passion and commitment working with adult with intellectual and developmental disabilities;
  • Must pass pre-employment background check screening requirements;
  • Successful completion of First Aid/CPR certification required within four months of hire or current certification;
  • Complete Medication Administration training courses within four months of hire;
  • Current, valid Illinois drivers license and proof of insurance required;
  • Fluent verbal and written English and Spanish communication preferred;
  • Willing to work evenings, weekends, overnights and overtime as needed;
  • Flexibility and ability to work all shifts;
  • May be required to lift/move objects weighing up to 40 pounds;
  • May be required to lift and transfer individuals when necessary.
