Corcoran Jennison is seeking a dependable and detail-oriented Building Cleaner / Porter to help maintain the overall cleanliness, appearance, and first impression of our residential community. This role is essential to ensuring common areas and vacant apartments meet our high standards for residents and prospective tenants.

Position Summary

The Building Cleaner / Porter is responsible for maintaining the cleanliness of interior and exterior common areas, preparing vacant apartments for new residents, and supporting the maintenance team with light operational tasks. This position plays a key role in resident satisfaction, property presentation, and overall community standards.

Key Responsibilities

• Clean and maintain common areas including offices, clubhouse, fitness center, laundry rooms, hallways, and other shared spaces
• Prepare vacant apartments to “move-in ready” condition, including kitchens, appliances, bathrooms, glass, and flooring
• Maintain exterior cleanliness, including litter removal and seasonal duties such as snow removal assistance
• Monitor, maintain, and properly use cleaning supplies, equipment, and safety materials
• Perform light maintenance tasks such as bulb replacement, minor upkeep, and delivery of notices as needed
• Follow all company safety procedures, policies, and handbook guidelines
• Provide courteous interaction with residents and support resident retention efforts

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED preferred
• Prior cleaning or porter experience helpful but not required
• Ability to work independently, prioritize tasks, and maintain attention to detail
• Strong reliability, professionalism, and customer-service mindset

Physical Requirements

This position involves frequent physical activity, including:

• Walking, standing, bending, kneeling, climbing stairs/ladders, and reaching overhead
• Lifting and carrying items typically 25–75 lbs. (occasionally more with assistance)
• Operating cleaning equipment and tools safely
• Ability to observe areas needing attention and read product/safety labels
• Clear communication with staff and residents

Transportation Requirements

• Valid driver’s license may be required when operating company vehicles
• Reliable transportation to travel between property locations if necessary

Work Environment

• Combination of indoor and outdoor work in various weather conditions
• Possible exposure to cleaning chemicals, paint fumes, solvents, and maintenance environments
• Occasional work in confined or awkward positions
